I am a trainee solicitor currently working in the Civil Litigation Department. I have experience of Employment Law, Clinical Negligence, Corporate, Insolvency, Probate and Criminal Law.
I was previously a Strategic Manager for a Member of Parliament for over 5 year which included leading and coordinating Local, General and European Elections for the Constituency. I served as General Secretary to the Bury Park Community Resource Centre Management Committee which worked in partnership with Luton Borough Council to run one of the largest Community Centres in Luton, as well as Chair of the Elite Group which focused on delivering targeted and sustainable regeneration projects to deprived neighbourhoods. I was also instrumental in forcing change in the way local Primary Care Trusts and Local Authorities provide services for people with complex disabilities and have set a precedent for my work on this. I have worked tirelessly on honour based violence for over a decade which has involved working with the Government to reevaluate policies and legislation, and speaking at the United Nations on the issue.
In 2004 I was appointed the youngest serving Magistrate in Bedfordshire. In 2010 I became a member of the British Council's Transatlantic Network 2020; a network of 130 future leaders from across Europe and the US. I have participated in the Brussels Forum, the Young Professionals Summit and many other high level events. I am a member of the Lloyds Inspirational Womens Network and the UK Working Group on CEDAW. In 2010 I was elected as a Governor of the Luton & Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust.
I have also been the recipient of numerous awards for my work including Parliamentary Researcher of the Year Award, the Asian Women of Achievement Award, Paralegal of the Year Award, the Asian Woman Award for Excellence and Bedfordshire’s Rising Stars Award.
I have brought my wealth of experience to my chosen career and I look forward to making my mark on the legal world.
