The Master Of Rolls, Lord Neuberger has issued a Practice Direction: Guidance for Interim Non-Disclosure Orders which came into effect from 1st August 2011.  The Direction includes a general requirement to give notice of such applications to respondents or other interested parties and directs that in the case of media organisations there should be compelling reasons for notice not to be given. The Master of the Rolls indicates that for applications against internet based organisations, tweeters or bloggers different considerations may arise.
