Dunn & Baker Solicitors would like to offer a warm welcome to Craig Ford and Berfin Yetiskin who joined the firm in January 2024.
Craig joined the Medical Negligence team on the 9th January 2024 as a Solicitor, working Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from the Exeter office. He has practised solely in Medical Negligence since the start of his legal career and has experience dealing with a wide variety of claims.
Craig gained prior medical experience as a registered nurse in HM Forces for over 23 years. He relocated to the South West in 2005 and in 2006 he graduated with LLB (Hons) from the College of Law/Open University programme. He began working for a local law firm in Plymouth before completing the Legal Practice Course in 2008 and qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010.
Craig has a breadth of experience investigating and settling medical negligence claims across both general practice and NHS Trusts. He specialises in complex claims that include catastrophic injuries at birth, brain injuries including strokes, claims involving surgery, claims leading to fatalities, delays in diagnosing meningitis claims, and cardiac and sepsis claims.
Starting on the 8th January 2024, Berfin joined the Family department as a full-time Paralegal at the Exeter office. Since the beginning of her legal career in 2021, Berfin gained experience in Civil Litigation, Immigration and Family Law whilst working for a London law firm before relocating to Devon to join Dunn & Baker Solicitors.
Berfin completed her LLB Law Bachelors undergraduate degree at the University of Surrey, going on to complete the Legal Practice course (LPC) and a Masters at the University of Law. She has advocated at family courts for many different hearings including Domestic Violence, Child Arrangements, Occupation Orders/ Transfer of Tenancy and Destitution Domestic Violence Concession (DDVC).
Berfin characterises herself as someone who is caring, approachable, professional and diligent. She recognises how stressful and uncomfortable family proceedings can be, so she ensures the process runs smoothly with the least stress for the client.
