The firm was originally established in 1918 and for most of its lifetime was known as Baily Strickland and Bryant. This name was changed in 2003 to Baily Bryant & Dumbleton, one year after the current Senior Partner, Liz Dumbleton, joined the partnership. The firm became a LLP in October 2008 and was re-branded as EMD Law LLP. In April 2011 the firm was accepted as a QualitySolicitors Partner Firm and became QualitySolicitors EMD Law. Quality Solicitors is the UK’s first national legal brand.

The firm has two offices; the Head Office is in Staplehurst, Kent and there is a branch office in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. All the fee earners spend time in both offices.

Clients are provided with a fixed fee quote or a costs estimate at the beginning of every matter so there are no unpleasant surprises when they are invoiced. We are happy to discuss payment by instalments as we think everyone has the right to obtain good quality legal advice, but realise that it is often difficult to pay for it upfront. We are also able to offer ‘no win no fee’ funding options on some matters.

We can offer wheelchair access at both our offices and home/office visits can be arranged, as can late night appointments for commuters.
