If you are concerned about how your affairs are dealt with should you no longer be well enough to manage due to health reasons, you should appoint a trusted person to be your Attorney. Alternatively, if a friend or family member sadly loses their capacity to deal with their own affairs and does not have an Attorney to help, a Deputy, supervised by the Court of Protection, should be appointed to make decisions regarding that person's finances and/or welfare.
Our team can give advice about the roles and responsibilities of appointing Attorneys or a Deputy and can deal with the applications to the Court on your behalf.
