Roy Whitelaw / Solicitor
Roy Whitelaw joined Jackson & Canter in 2002. The majority of his workload involves historical child abuse cases. This area of work involves clients who, as children, suffered serious abuse and/or neglect in residential institutions. In most cases the abuse has left lasting psychiatric damage as adults.
Despite the hurdles faced due to the law on limitation, Roy has been successful in obtaining compensation for most of his clients. Some of Roy's cases have been part of high-profile group actions brought in the High Courts of Liverpool and Manchester.
Roy also undertakes some general litigation work as part of the private client department.
Roy is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
