Powers of Attorney Fees Up

New Fees for Lasting Powers of Attorney have been implemented from 1st October 2013

The Office of the Public Guardian have introduced new court fees in the registration of a Lasting Power of Attorney.  As from the 1st October 2013 the new court fee will be £110 from £130 per application.

A Lasting Power of Attorney preceded by the Enduring Power of Attorney in 2007 is a legal document by which you give someone you trust the legal power to manage your financial affairs when you can no longer manage them yourself.  There is also the opportunity of the preparation of a Lasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare.  Your nominated Attorneys can then make decisions as to your care and medical treatment on your behalf if you do not have the mental capacity to make such a decision yourself.
