Paralegal

Ansar is a Paralegal in the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team, having joined in January 2024.

Ansar completed a Graduate Diploma in Law at De Montfort University in 2021 and completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2023 at Birmingham City University.

Passionate about mental health work, Ansar previously worked as a Mental Health Legislation Administrator within the NHS and gained a comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. 

Ansar’s work involves assisting the solicitors, primarily Debbie Anderson with health and welfare matters such as:

  • Health and welfare applications under Section 21A and Section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Community care and Care Act 2014 matters
  • Matters under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court
  • Forced marriages
  • Matters which involve medical treatment

Ansar is passionate about ensuring those who are vulnerable receive the care and support they are entitled to, and their wishes and feelings are heard.

Outside of work, Ansar enjoys spending time with the family and taking walks to discover new places
