Work Related Upper Limb Disorders
The term ‘upper limb disorder’ encompasses a variety of musculoskeletal problems, affecting the tissues of the hand, wrist, arm and shoulder. Such problems are relatively common in the general population and can arise independently of working conditions. Within the workplace, WRULD is an umbrella term for conditions thought to be caused by exposure in the workplace. Alternative terms for this are overuse syndrome, repetitive strain injury (RSI) and cumulative trauma disorder (CTD).
The TUC reports that one in fifty workers is suffering from the symptoms of RSI, which include pain and immobility in the joints, nerves and muscles from the fingers to the neck.
It does not matter which of the above injuries or conditions have been sustained, the principles which apply to a successful claim for compensation are the same. The aim is to put the injured worker back in the position in which they would have been if the accident had not occurred or the injury had not developed, by securing adequate compensation.
If you are suffering from a work related upper limb injury sustained at work and which was not your fault, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
We have specialist solicitors who can deal with your claim and take away the worry and the stress and seek compensation on your behalf.
