Harvey Pabla

Partner

Having joined Yates & Co in the summer of 1995 for two weeks work experience after successfully completing my Law Degree in 1994 and The Legal Practice Course in 1995 I was happy to secure a foothold within the legal sector at a time when opportunities were scarce. After having been impressed with the Firm I was eager to extend my work experience for a further few months, thankfully the opportunity did arise and following a much enjoyed trial period I was offered a Training Contract. Qualifying in 1997 and managing to progress quickly I was delighted to become a Partner at the Firm at the age of 27 in 1999.

Since qualifying in 1997 I have specialised in residential and commercial conveyancing together with private client work.

17 years later I am still based in Nottingham City centre, albeit at our new offices, and am able to offer advice on moving home, property investment (and buy to let), buying at auction, leasehold property, remortgages, transfers of title, declarations on trust, wills and probate, business leases, licences and buying and selling businesses together with business property.

Always keen to spend time with my clients I like to ensure they understand all the legal processes involved in their matter and making sure that all their wishes and needs are fully attended to. Once this bond is established I always endeavour towards the best solution available to my clients. Since entering the legal profession I have always prided myself on achieving the optimum results available in any particular circumstances.

I prefer, and insist, that advice is delivered to my clients in a straight forward ‘no nonsense’ way, whether this be delivered by myself or by a member of the team I have formed around me. If, as in some situations the circumstances warrant, I have to talk through legal technicalities with my clients I do my upmost to ensure they are comfortable with what is happening and what decisions are being taken.

Forging lasting relationships with many of my clients, some of whom have returned time and time again it is always satisfying to play whatever part is necessary to make their lives easier. Whether it is another house move, amending Wills following marriage or the birth a child, helping parents financially support grown up children or, more solemnly, helping families who have just lost someone.

I believe the mark of a good private client lawyer is to be there for their clients at every stage, to provide the best advice for whatever situation may occur.

Since becoming Senior Partner I have strived to improve the Firm year on year, it is my duty to tailor our services to meet the demands of our clients both on an individual and a collective level. As a Firm we look at each client’s objectives and consider how we can provide a service that achieves those objectives at the right price whilst providing the finest customer care.

I spend most of my spare time wishing I had more spare time! Between wishing for more hours in the day though I do love to play snooker alongside watching football and Formula One.
