THURSDAY 17TH NOVEMBER 2016 – ST. IVES, CAMBS – QualitySolicitors ACKLAMBOND a member of the UK’s leading network of high street law firms, is reflecting on being part of another successful partnership with the children’s charity Barnardo’s.
Throughout October, QualitySolicitors ACKLAMBOND provided free sessions to customers from across Accrington who are aged over 55 and had questions around the process of drawing up a Will. The partnership was designed to break the taboo that exists around Wills, with QualitySolicitors customer research showing that 70% of UK adults aged over 50 don’t currently possess a valid Will.
As QualitySolicitors’ official charity partner since 2010, it was hoped that those receiving free legal expertise might consider leaving a legacy to Barnardo’s alongside loved ones when writing their Wills.
The scheme was a great success across Accrington and East Lancashire throughout October, with people creating a Will across the QualitySolicitors network for the first time. Many of those who took the opportunity to get free legal advice about creating a Will also decided to leave a legacy donation to Barnardo’s.
Roberto Carassale Managing Director of QualitySolicitors ACKLAMBOND said; Will Month 2016 has been as successful as previous years and the people of Accrington and East Lancashire have really taken to the initiative.
The objective of our sessions was to highlight how important it is to keep affairs in order and we are pleased that so many people locally have come to us for advice on what is still for many, a difficult topic to discuss.
“We’d also like to thank all those who attended the sessions in our Accrington and Darwen offices and included Barnardo’s in their Will. Together we have helped ensure a number of legacies for the charity, meaning they can continue to do the invaluable work they have been doing protecting children across Lancashire for the past 150 years.
Dylan Carroll, Senior Relationships Manager at Barnardo’s said; “We would like to thank everyone who wrote their Wills with QualitySolicitors through the Will Scheme and remembered Barnardo’s during Will Month. Those who choose to remember Barnardo’s in this way today will leave a vulnerable child someone to turn to in the future.
The support from staff at QualitySolicitors ACKLAMBOND has been amazing. Their expert advice gives participants in the Will Scheme peace of mind and professional reassurance; we thank them for their continued support and effort.”
Celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Barnardo’s works with more than 248,000 children, young people and their families each year and runs 996 essential services annually, all focused on the care of young people across the UK.
Since 2010, a number of QualitySolicitors firms have also undertaken physical tasks and challenges to raise money and awareness for Barnardo’s. So far this year Qualitysolicitors ACKLAMBOND have raised a staggering £1715.00 for Barnardo’s by undertaking a number of fundraising activities such as completing the Yorkshire Three Peak’s and organising a raffle at our 25 year celebration.
