Qualifying as a solicitor over 30 years ago, David set up the practice that is now QualitySolicitors AcklamBond in October 1988, inviting Denise Bond to join the firm as a partner in 1991.
A former member and Past President of Accrington Rotary Club for over 25 years, a former Rotary District Officer and a former member and Chairman of Accrington Round Table, David is now well established in the local community despite being a Yorkshireman by birth.
David is currently a trustee of Age UK Lancashire.
His charitable activities also include raising money for research into the causes and treatment of cancer in children.
The firm has developed since I started up with one member of staff on 31st October 1988. At that time I set up in a small office on Warner Street Accrington and we have now moved to larger main office premises called Equity Chambers at the corner of St James Street/Willows Street. Accrington where we occupy what is locally called ''the old job centre''.
For 17 years we had a branch office in Blackburn which expanded and 3 years ago opened a branch office in Darwen. This proved so successful that we decided to close the office in Blackburn and concentrate on developing the Darwen office.
I enjoy carrying out an excellent job for a client and going beyond the call of duty - I remember acting for one client where I flew to France to prepare his will!
I have always been interested in helping people and have been invovled in charitable activities particularly through my former membership of Accrington Round Table and Accrington Rotary Club.
My interest in new business has continued through being a Director of Hyndburn Enterprise Trust Limited for over 20 years. I continue charitable activities through being a Trustee of Age UK Lancashire.
