Love thy neighbour...?

by Adam Davis

A woman was recently found guilty of assaulting three of her neighbours outside her £1million detached property in Sutton Coldfield.

Birmingham Magistrates’ Court heard how Ms Julie Rankine attacked her neighbours on separate occasions with her metal walking stick, and even more alarmingly, an axe!

The incidents took place last year and were described as the direct result of a 10-year boundary dispute between the parties involving ‘controversial’ planning permission applications, boundary fence disagreements and numerous noise complaints.

Thankfully boundary disputes rarely escalate to this level of violence, but can nonetheless be extremely unpleasant and often involve complex areas of law.
