I am a Solicitor within the Children Law team at Amphlett Lissimore, based at our Camberwell office (Our Camberwell office trading name is QualitySolicitors Hartnells) and I specialise in care proceedings.  I also deal with pre-proceedings matters [PLO].  This is when the local authority invites you to a meeting to discuss concerns in relation to your child/ren.  It is a process aimed at working with families to ensure the children remain in their care, if it is safe to do so and to avoid court proceedings. The firm has a legal aid contract in care proceedings and PLO matters, this means I am able to assist clients and all fees are payable by the Legal Aid Agency.

I qualified as a solicitor in May 2012; during my training contact I dealt with a wide range of areas icluding; care proceedings, divorce, financial aspects of separating, contact with children and welfare benefits.  These have taught me to be able to deal with different people from all different backgrounds.  This is a skill I continue to use now.

I have over 7 years’ experience of care proceedings representing all the different parties.  Since March 2017 I have been concentrating on representing parents and other family members. I am a member of the Law Society Children Panel, which means I am also able to represent children in care proceedings.  My approach on proceedings is to ensure that a client understands the process, nature of concerns and what s/he can do to address the concerns.  The focus throughout the proceedings is the children’s welfare; this means that parents and professionals need to work together to ensure the best outcome for the child is achieved.
