I am an experienced paralegal providing support to a team of four lawyers specialising in childcare law.
My team acts for both children (through their Children's Guardians) who are the subject of care proceedings as well as parents whose children have been or are at risk of being, taken into care. The team also advises other interested parties to the proceedings, such as grandparents, who may put themselves forward to care.
My varied role encompasses a broad range of duties and crucially I act as a key point of contact to assist clients in the event that their lawyer is required at court. The role also involves attendance at court and professional meetings, assisting with client statements, briefing counsel and the general running of cases in the lawyer's absence. In addition, I am responsible for sourcing and liaising with medical experts alongside the lawyers to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
I am very proud of the work our dedicated childcare team does in representing the needs of often vulnerable clients in extremely difficult circumstances. I get immense job satisfaction from being a part of a team that strives to make a real difference to client's lives.
