I specialise in acting in Children cases within family law. I am on the Law Society's Children panel and I represent parents and other family members in care and related proceedings. I also act in adoption cases. I am regularly instructed by Children's Guardians to represent children (from 0-16) in care and adoption proceedings. I am also appointed to act for children in complex/intractable private law matters where there is disagreement as to where the children should live or what contact they should have with family members. I often act for families or children with connections abroad. I undertake most of my own advocacy in all courts including the High Court, instructing counsel when appropriate and required. This allows clients to have continuity of advice, representation and support.
I first became involved in law after becoming a volunteer then a paid advice worker in Brighton and London, after leaving university. On joining Amphlett Lissimore, I extended my experience to include family and criminal work as well as developing my advocacy skills. I then chose to specialise in family work.
Weekend relaxation usually includes a trip to a cinema, art gallery or theatre. Longer breaks involve escapes to British or European hills for walking or serious sightseeing anywhere.
