How to Rent Guides- Landlords Beware

As all landlords know you now need to make sure that your tenants receive the Governments “How to Rent” booklet; and that it MUST be the version that is current to the date that the tenancy started.

The last official How to Rent guide was dated 31 May 2019 but please note that this version has been amended since that date. Since May 2019 there have been 2 further changes made to the guide in June 2019 and July 2019.
The change in June 2019 is on page 5 of the guide and changes the reference from “NALS” to “Safeagent”. The change in July was to the wording on page 4 from “If you don’t have a guarantor, you can ask Shelter for help” to “… you can ask Shelter for advice”.
Landlords please make sure that you are issuing the amended version.
