Conveyancing Solicitor/Conveyancing Executive

Main purpose of job

1.1      To undertake fee earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the conveyancing department.

1.2       To assist in the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.

 

Key tasks include

2.1      Conduct conveyancing matters on behalf of Clients, including sale and purchase transactions, transfers of equity, mortgages and remortgages involving freehold and leasehold properties.

2.2      Participation in the promotion of the firms Conveyancing Department among local professional firms.

2.3.1    Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through   collection of monies on account and billing procedures.


2.3.2    Deputise for Fee Earning colleagues within the Residential Conveyancing Department during holidays and absences as directed by supervisor.

 

Person specification

3.1      The main qualifications for this position is experience of Residential Conveyancing. Applications are invited from qualified solicitors, licenced conveyancers, chartered legal executives and from unqualified conveyancers.

3.2       The jobholder must display a pleasant, but assertive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients.

3.3      An effective communicator, both orally and in writing, having a good command of the English language.

3.4.1    Personally efficient and well organised, with a good control of diary systems and competent in the firm’s computer facilities.


3.4.2    Competent key boarding skill set.
