Uninsured Drivers Agreement
The Government has reviewed the Uninsured Drivers Agreement with the Motor Insurance Bureau and announced major reforms to the compensatory protection of victims of motor accidents.
Major reforms from 1 August 2015
The changes will come into force on 1st August 2015 and make it more difficult for the Motor Insurance Bureau to reject cases, purely on the basis of trivial procedural infractions.
A fairer process
The new agreement is shorter, simpler and altogether fairer to accident victims. Prior to 1st August 2015, old rules and regimes apply as do cases involving untraced drivers. However, it is still possible to bring a case under these schemes and many claims are successful.
