Our Jeans for Genes fundraiser is up 32% on last year!

Jeans mean fundraising - see what we've been up to!

Once again the team at QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby sported their favourite jeans to work, on Friday 18 September 2015, in return for making donations and wearing stickers to show their support of children with genetic disorders.

There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders and it's estimated that one in 25 children is affected, which means 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.

The national campaign raises vital income to help children affected by these conditions and with famous supporters like comedian Keith Lemon, model Kate Moss and our very own Queen, Jeans for Genes Day is gathering momentum year on year.

We're proud to announce we completely smashed our own fundraising record for the day with a whopping 32% increase on last year’s figure!

Not only did the staff and partners raise £64.77 in just a few hours, but the partners also generously match-funded the amount to achieve a total of £129.54!

Jeans for Genes tell us the funds raised will pay for one of the following benefits: -

  • Three children to have a day out with other youngsters with the same genetic condition, so they can share experiences and don’t feel like the odd one out
  • 60 DVDs to educate parents how to do physiotherapy for a child at home
  • Twelve nights babysitting by a qualified specialist nurse to enable parents to catch up on some much needed sleep.
  • Two hours of medical advice from a specialist nurse

Marketing Manager, Debbie Connolly said:

“I'm proud to say the whole team really got involved in the day – and sported some very cool outfits! Beating last year's figure by such a massive margin is a real bonus and just shows what can be achieved when we all pull together!  It's great to know that the income raised really will enhance the life of a child with a genetic disorder, so I'm very pleased that we were able to participate."
