QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby took part in a national Bonfire-Night themed bake off on Friday 6 November and managed to generate a ‘sweet’ total of £120.60 for Barnardo’s from their tasty efforts!
There was a fantastic response from kind staff and clients, who happily raised £60.30 in just a few hours. But the fundraising didn’t stop there: the law firm’s generous Partners decided to match fund the figure, doubling the amount to a fundraising total of £120.60 to help the vital work that Barnardo’s does!
The initiative was part of the QualitySolicitors nationwide network of law firm’s latest Big Bang Big Bake fundraising campaign for Barnardo’s. Each firm presented its own dynamite desserts, scorching sweets and blistering baking skills in a display of the best from around the national QualitySolicitors network.
Debbie Connolly, Marketing Manager for QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby, said:
“We thought this ‘explosive’ challenge was a fantastic idea that people could really get behind, have fun and raise money at the same time. Barnardo’s help vulnerable children in so many different ways, so the concept was to be as creative as possible with our bonfire-themed creations and raise lots of income. As well as inviting staff to participate, by baking, selling and buying cake, we also had a reception display so clients could donate to have a treat. The campaign went down a storm and I’m really proud of what we were able to achieve!”
Taking a leaf out of Mary Berry’s book, the law firm nominated Receptionist, Andrea Temple as their Champion Baker, for the national ‘QualitySolicitors Star Baker’ Competition, for her truly mouth-wateringly delicious chocolate ‘bonfire’ torte! The whizz who demonstrates the most flair for bonfire-inspired baking brilliance will be announced on 25 November.
Dylan Carroll, Senior Fundraising Manager for Barnardo’s, said:
“Our founder, Thomas Barnardo, pledged that no child should be turned away. We endeavour to continue our work with this belief. On behalf of Barnardo’s I want to reiterate our thanks to all at QualitySolicitors, staff and customers who will bake, eat and donate. Together I’m sure we will create a fun and successful day for an unrivalled good cause.”
The Big Bang Big Bake followed Barnardo’s highly successful Will Month in October in which QualitySolicitors firms actively marketed how the scheme works. QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby’s campaign resulted in 8 new Wills being prepared, which in total represented a significant sum for Barnardo’s from generous clients!
However, the scheme is available all year round. So if you are over 55 and wish to leave a gift to Barnardo’s to help give a vulnerable child a future, QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby Wills expert and Associate Solicitor, Victoria Norman, will draft your will free of charge!
