What is a tenancy agreement?
A tenancy agreement is a contract between a tenant and a landlord that clarifies responsibilities on both sides so that, moving forward, no one is in any doubt where they stand.
However, if you're a landlord, there is not just the tenancy agreement to consider. As a security measure, landlords are legally entitled to request a deposit before letting a property to a tenant and, providing the terms of the tenancy agreement have been met, this should be returned to the tenant at the end of the lease. Landlords are now legally required to place the deposit in one of three government-backed tenancy deposit schemes.
How we can help
QualitySolicitors Bradbury Roberts & Raby's property team can offer expert advice regarding tenancy agreements and deposits for both tenants and landlords and our client testimonials bear witness to this.
Partner and Head of the Property Department, Matthew Inman's clients say:
"Thank you for your reassurances and wise advice. You can be certain that should I require any further lawyerly advice on this matter or any other issue I shall be turning to BR&R and specifically yourself." Anonymous.
For the first time ever I was completely satisfied with the service provided by a Solicitor. In previous dealings with lawyers I have usually felt that I could have done a better job by myself. Not this time. Everything went as well as could be expected and the advice which I received was clear and proven to be correct. The communication between your Solicitor and myself was without any delay. I am not looking for further legal battles but if necessary I would feel very comfortable dealing with this firm.
