Lauren Foote

Family Law Advocate

I have worked in Family Law since 2012. Throughout this time I have worked for Legal Practices in Kent, London and Staffordshire before joining Davisons in December 2020. I am currently an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and hold a Level 3 Family Law Practice Certificate.

I support Davisons’ clients from our Wolverhampton office and can advise in relation to Divorce and Civil Partnership Dissolution, Financial Matters (including pension and income provisions upon separation), Spousal and Child maintenance, Children arrangements, Co-habitation disputes, Separation Agreements, Domestic abuse and Change of Name Deeds.

I act for a wide range of clients with differing needs and from varying backgrounds. I would describe myself as friendly and supportive with an empathetic nature although balance this with a firm and direct approach to matters when necessary. I am mindful of the sensitive nature of my client’s instructions and strive to negotiate matters wherever possible with a view to keeping costs proportionate and to a minimum. When Court Proceedings are required I take a pragmatic approach to ensure that my clients feel supported and have a full understanding of the process from start to finish.

Outside of work I enjoy cooking, live music and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

In the UK today, cohabiting couples are quickly becoming the fastest growing family group and in times when we have seen a gradual but continuing decline in married couples.

Increasingly over the last year we have seen a rise in client enquiries which relate to unmarried couples and what legal protection is available to them upon their cohabitation and any subsequent separation.
