Claire Agnew


Claire is a solicitor in the private client team and has over 15 years’  experience in private client work,  specialising in wills and probate. Claire has been working in this area since she qualified.

Claire qualified as a solicitor in 2002.  She completed her training contract at a North Devon firm and has worked at a number of different firms and for an in house company before joining Dunn & Baker Solicitors. She attended the University of Hull and obtained a 2:1 Law Degree and completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction at the York College of Law.

Claire is a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and also a member of Devon and Somerset Law Society.

Claire specialises in all Private Client matters including advising clients in relation to Wills to ensure that their wishes are implemented with regard to the distribution of their estates and advises upon any inheritance tax implications.  Claire also deals with clients affairs after they have passed away managing their estates according to the clients will or the rules of intestacy.  In addition, Claire advises in connection with a client’s personal affairs to include the drafting of Powers of Attorney (property and welfare / health and wellbeing).

Claire is happy to visit local clients at their homes or in hospital if they are unable to visit the office. Claire prides herself in ensuring that the legal advice is given in a sensitive and understandable way and ensuring that legal jargon is avoided.
