Tracey Surman

Conveyancing Manager

‘I never take for granted that my clients have chosen to instruct me; because of this I treat every property transaction as if it were my own, with the same care and attention that every client deserves.’

Tracey has specialised in Property Law for over 25 years and has built a strong reputation in the Sussex region for residential conveyancing. Tracey joined Howlett Clarke in 2015 and today leads the property team in our Southwick office. Pursuing a career in this area of law has always been a natural choice for Tracey as she has always been passionately interested in property and the history of property law, particularly in Brighton & Hove area.

Tracey provides a conveyancing service grounded in her considerable experience of dealing of all types of residential property transactions, as well as cases concerning equity release plans, transfers of equity, adverse possession applications and lease extensions. Tracey is known for unfailingly supporting her clients on their property journey from instruction to completion. Her reputation for client care is such that many of her clients return with their family and friends to seek out Tracey’s assistance, knowing that she will exceed their expectations.

Tracey’s bubbly and caring personality resonates with clients and colleagues alike, and as well as managing the Southwick Residential Property team, Tracey has also been involved in the training of up and coming property solicitors and legal advisors across the Sussex area.

At home, Tracey spends her leisure time renovating her own property and restoring antiques. Tracey also designs and makes ‘antiqued’ teddy bears and additionally is known for her quirky caricatures.
