Lucas is a Qualified Duty Solicitor and a Partner in the Crime Department. Lucas specialises in all areas of Criminal Law.


Lucas hails from Penpedairheol, Hengoed in the Rhymney Valley. Lucas attended at Lewis Boys School, Pengam where he achieved GCSE and A Level Qualifications. Lucas obtained a Law LL.B (Hons) Degree from Swansea University in 2010 and completed his Legal Practice Course at Glamorgan University in 2011.


Lucas worked in two of the largest high street Law Firms in Wales before commencing his Training Contract with Lloyd & Rowe Solicitors, Cardiff. Lucas qualified in April 2015 and continued to work at Lloyd & Rowe as an Assistant Solicitor before moving to JA Hughes in January 2016.

Lucas represents clients at the Police Station, Magistrates Court and Youth Court. Lucas has represented clients for a wide range of offences such as Rape, High-Value Drug Trafficking, Terrorism and Murder.

Lucas enjoys working within Criminal Law as every day is different and that you never know what issue, whether big or small, will walk through the door. Lucas has a passion for helping clients with any criminal proceedings that they have and will continue to do so until the matter has concluded.


Lucas attends the Gym on daily basis and plays Semi Professional Rugby for Skewen RFC in the WRU National Championship. Lucas also enjoys walking his dog down the Gower and socialising with friends.
