Matthew joined J A Hughes in November 2019. He is a Trainee Solicitor based at the Barry office. He is looking forward to gaining experience in a variety of seats during his training contract.
Education & Career
Matthew completed his secondary education at Stanwell Comprehensive School in Penarth before going on to study Ancient History at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2010. Since then Matthew has served in the Royal Military Police for five and a half years, notably spending time in Belize, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan among other places. During his final two years he completed his GDL through distance learning with BPP University and subsequently left in order to attend and complete his Legal Practice Course in Manchester, also with BPP University. During his LPC, Matthew volunteered on a number of Streetlaw projects, delivering presentations on legal topics in primary and secondary schools.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys achieving podiums at Park Run events, has recently taken up the sport of weightlifting and dutifully follows his boyhood football team Arsenal FC. He still regards finishing fourth in a tower running challenge at the Gherkin in London as one of his finest achievements.
