Charles Westwood

Trainee Solicitor - Criminal Appeals

I am a Paralegal at Quality Solicitors Jordans LLP working on the firm's Miscarriage of Justice Team and with the Crime Team. I have completed an LLM in Human Rights Law and the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University.

I have an active interest in justice and human rights. Whilst at Cardiff University I worked for the Innocence Project and I had the opportunity to work on several miscarriage of justice cases including the recent successful case which resulted in the Court of Appeal overturning the murder conviction of Dwaine George. I have also worked with Amnesty International setting up a Global Justice group at Cardiff researching the Kenyan slum clearances.

My work with Jordans has involved both working on Criminal Appeals cases and assisting with Jury Trials at the Crown Court.

Outside of work I mostly spend my free time writing, hill walking and travelling when I can.
