Daniel Cottrell

Director, Head of Dispute Resolution

I am a Director and Head of the Dispute Resolution Department.

I joined Knight Polson in 2007 in order to develop the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Litigation Department. I am able to offer a wider range of services to clients. I specialise in all aspects of Civil Litigation.

I have a wealth of experience representing both businesses and individuals in a wide range of work types. My expertise has been gained by representing clients in a number of different work types since the mid 1990’s.

I am able to offer realistic, practical and straight forward advice from the outset whatever the dispute. My goal is to achieve the best commercial result for you and in doing so I recognise that court action may not be necessarily the best solution for you. I am a firm believer in alternative dispute resolution and I will always keep an open mind about how best to deal with your case but will take court proceedings if necessary.

It is important to me to ensure clients are clear from the very beginning about the prospects of their case and the likely costs that will be involved. I am happy to talk through any problems you may have.
