A room with a view?

Whatever you think of the i360 and the new wind farm along the Sussex coastline, there’s no doubt that our sea views have changed dramatically in just a few short years.

Did you know that, as a general rule, there’s no right to a view in English law?

In theory, there’s nothing to stop a landowner selling you a property with stunning views - maybe even charging a higher than average price - then blocking them later with a new development on their adjoining land.

If you are buying a property for its views, let your conveyancer know. We can check if nearby developments are planned, or look for or negotiate other ways to protect your favourite view and the value of your property.
