Amun Sandhar

Paralegal

I am a Paralegal in the Court of Protection team, having joined in May 2022.

I completed my LLB in Law and I have gained a few years of experience helping vulnerable members of the public within my previous role.

I work within the Court of Protection Health and Welfare team, supporting the solicitors with applications to the Court of Protection such as under s21A and s16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

I have always been passionate about ensuring the most vulnerable have their voices heard and have previously taken part in pro bono work, providing free legal advice at the Nottingham Legal Advice Centre and also Citizens Advice Bureau, supporting members of the public as well as attended hearings and supporting the public in family proceedings involving children.

The Court of Protection team are regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor, advocates and family members in cases which can often involve complex issues such as residence, care, sexual relations, contact, medical decisions and deprivations of liberty.
