Solicitors' quotes must be fair, Court says

The High Court has recently confirmed that solicitors giving fixed quotes must quote for all expenses anticipated at the outset and cannot give a low "headline quote" which then doubles or trebles by the time it comes to be paid due to hidden charges buried in the paperwork.

Our partner Phil Palmer acted as an expert witness in the case of SRA v Andersons and the court confirmed that clear and comprehensive quotes (as provided by QualitySolicitors firms) were correct and the widespread practice amongst many firms of using hidden charges to boost profits is actually illegal.
