Private Client Solicitor Charlotte Timson completed the Lichfield Half Marathon on the 7th of May to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s.
Charlotte, based in our Sutton Coldfield office, took on the 13.1 miles course finishing in 2 hours and 19 minutes. The course started at the King Edward VI School, looping past Fisherwick Wood and Fradley before ending at Stowe Fields.
Participating in her first ever half marathon, Charlotte smashed her target of £150, with donations reaching £535. QualitySolicitors Davisons had promised to match the amount raised, bringing the final total to a sum of £1,070.
Charlotte said; “I have always wanted to try running a half marathon so I am very happy to say I can check off a personal achievement at the same time as raising money for the great cause that is Barnardo’s.”
The event was part of the Barnardo’s Bucket List Challenge, which encourages people to take part in something they have always wanted to do whilst raising money for the children’s charity.
Charlotte said: “QS Davisons have worked with Barnardo’s for many years. Through this I attended a Barnardo’s event and heard from those who had benefited directly from the charity’s work inspiring me to get my running shoes on and start raising money for their important work. I highly recommend others get involved.”
QualitySolicitors Davisons currently run a free-will writing service in partnership with Barnardo's for those aged 55 and over. Further details of the scheme can be found here.
