There was nothing pretty about the Race for Life Pretty Muddy at Cofton Park, Birmingham on Saturday, 13 July. The team at QualitySolicitors Davisons got down and dirty, swapping business suits for tracksuits as they slipped and slid their way through the 5-kilometre obstacle course in the name of fundraising.
Contrary to the age-old saying, Sunday was no day for relaxing. QualitySolicitors Davisons Director Darryl Wilkes and Conveyancing Solicitor James Kennedy gritted through a gruelling Olympic relay course at the Birmingham Triathlon on 16 June, joined by professional triathlete Ian Dempsey – and they took out first place!
It’s a befitting win given the driving force behind their participation, which was to officially launch QualitySolicitors Davisons’ year-long fundraising campaign for HomeLess One, a charity that works seven days a week to bring hot meals and drinks to the homeless community in Birmingham.
Two of our directors, Gary Davison and Darryl Wilkes, have joined forces with semi-professional triathlete Ian Dempsey in order to raise vital funds for HomeLess One, a charity that works seven days a week to bring hot meals and drinks to the homeless community in Birmingham.
The trio will take on a leg each of the Birmingham Triathlon on Sunday, 16 June, committing to the monster Olympic and relay circuit that will involve a 1,500 metre swim, a 40 kilometre cycle and a 10 kilometre run.
QualitySolicitors Davisons’ Summer Gala was a sell-out success! Colleagues, friends, family and the wider community came together on 27 July and dug deep to raise close to £4,000.
Director Darryl Wilkes spearheaded the event as part of his year-long fundraising campaign to raise awareness about bowel cancer, help promote the work of Bowel Cancer UK and raise much-needed funds for research, early diagnosis awareness campaigns, new drug trials and treatments, as well as patient and family support.
