Selina Shahid

Solicitor

My academic journey of law began at Sixth Form, where I achieved an A* in A-level Law, this confirmed that law was a perfect match for me and I continued my studies at the University of Birmingham, where I obtained my LLB degree. In 2016, I went on to study my Masters and LPC at the University of Law on the weekend course, alongside working and gaining legal experience. I have worked for a well-known estate agent, which gave me a unique insight into the property sector, it has allowed me to see the perspective of agents in maintaining strong working relations, as well as the legal role. Working cohesively with others is a strong point of mine.

In 2018, I started my training contract at a specialist property law firm and qualified as a Solicitor in 2020. During my training, I particularly enjoyed development site set ups and working on new build plots, which led me to join the New Build team here at Davisons.

My most memorable achievement, outside of law, would be volunteering over summer in Indonesia teaching underprivileged children English. It made me appreciate the value of language and the importance of education, to help better lives. I enjoy being involved in outreach and charity projects. When I’m not working, I also love travelling and trying new cuisines. My enthusiasm for food, led me to recently start a food blog
