James joined QualitySolicitors Dunn & Baker in March 2019 as a solicitor within the property department and is based at the Exeter office. James is a property specialist and accepts instructions in relation to residential conveyancing and commercial property. He has good contacts with a number of local estate agents, surveyors and mortgage brokers. James also acts for clients on an individual and portfolio basis in relation to enfranchisement rights (including the statutory right to a new lease under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993) and retains contacts with specialist counsel.
James undertakes a range of residential property work including sales, purchases, transfers of equity and lease extensions. James acts for landlords and tenants and advises in relation to a range of commercial property matters including transactions that require the involvement of pension trustees.
James graduated from King’s College London with first-class honours and was elected an Associate of the College. Following an initial career in publishing, he returned to Devon to complete his professional training with an Exeter-based firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
