Do I have to make a fatal injury claim within certain timescales?

- It is usually three years if the claim can be brought in England and Wales
- It is two years if the death was either a criminal injury (such as assault) or at sea/in the air
- With ‘hit and run’ traffic accidents a one year deadline may apply
