Must I have suffered from a physical injury to be able to bring a claim for psychological harm?

Usually, there has to be evidence of a physical injury before you can claim for related psychological harm. However there are exceptions; for example, it is sometimes possible for someone who has not suffered a physical injury to claim for psychological suffering if they were closely involved in a distressing event, such as a father witnessing the traumatic birth of a child, or a fire fighter or paramedic suffering during the course of their work.
