Philip joined the firm after working in house as a legal adviser for the Diocese of Durham. He combines his expertise in civil litigation/Dispute resolution with working in ecclesiastical law in the Diocesan Registry. Philip gained an LLM with distinction in 2010 from Northumbria University after conducting research into the law on chancel repair liability. He has particular interest in property law and wills/trust disputes.
Philip is Clerk to the Trustees of the Durham City Freemen comprising the trade guilds of the city. A keen sportsman, Philip is an active cricketer and coaches both cricket and rugby and is a keen mountaineer.
