I am a Solicitor based in Barwells Hailsham office. I have worked for Barwells since 2017 where I started as a Cover Assistant before joining the Private Client Department in early 2019. After successfully passing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), I am now a Solicitor within the Private Client Department specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax, Trusts, Probate and Administration of Estates.

I am a registered Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer’s Society making me part of a movement to learn more about Dementia and how we can help those who require a little more assistance.

I truly believe that attending a Solicitors office should not be intimidating and I like to ensure that my clients receive a friendly, approachable service whilst keeping high professional standards.

Outside of work I also enjoy a challenge and having already completing the Three Peaks, I am (slowly!) ticking off the Wainwrights, Munros and Welsh Peaks. I also enjoy taking part in Charity sponsored walks and hikes.

- Nil Rate Band Discretionary Trusts – are they still useful?

  The transferrable Nil Rate Band (TNRB) was introduced by the Finance Act 2008 and is available when someone has died on or after 9 October 2007, even if their spouse or civil partner died before this date. This was heralded by the Government as “doubling” the Inheritance Tax threshold for married couples and civil partners.
