Susan, Julie, Phillipa and Jackie all took part in the Dawlish Coastal Dash on Thursday evening 9 June. They were sponsored for the Cancer Charity Force. The run was a challenging one and covered 4 miles, some of it on sand.
Susan had some experience at half marathons, but for the others, this was the longest run they had ever attempted. Julie said "I am delighted to have succeeded in finishing the race. The weather when we left Crediton was showery, so it was a relief to us all to find that it was a fine evening in Dawlish!"
Partner, Chris Nicholl said "I am very proud of all four of them, they did really well to complete the race over that distance, especially when the first part involved running on sand."
