Legal Walk 2018!

The South West Legal Support Centre can only carry on doing this with the continued support of others.

The Legal Walk is a sponsored 10km walk around Exeter to raise money for free legal services. The walk will take place on Monday 4th June with many participating.

Here is what some of our participating staff have to say:

Katie – “Working in the legal sector, I understand the importance of people being able to receive the right advice and understanding their legal rights.  Unfortunately this can be costly at times, closing the door to some of those who need it the most.

Taking part in the walk and being able to raise funds to enable vital access to those who otherwise would not be able to afford it, means a lot.

I am really grateful for any support received and thrilled to be taking part this year.  I will also be bringing an additional mascot along to join our walking team …my dog Rupert.

Hopefully the sun will be shining this year!”

Helen – “I’ve started to really up my fitness game this year and I thought what better way to combine keeping fit with raising money for a worthy cause because you never know when you or a loved one may need to use legal services and SWLST helps those less fortunate to access legal services. It is very important that everyone has access to legal advice.

I am looking forward to walking with my fellow colleagues as it is a chance to get to know them better. Hopefully it won’t rain this year like it did last year but I am prepared with a proper raincoat this time!

Steven - I’m really looking forward to joining the team from QualitySolicitors Dunn & Baker walking 10K for charity this year (Monday 4 June). The firm has taken part for the last three years, and it is great to be part of this worthwhile event. Everyone talking part is walking  for a worthy cause. All the money raised for legal advice charities from our participation in this year’s South West Legal Walk is vital to help families who would otherwise not have access to much needed advice, because of restrictions in Legal Aid for things like Housing, Welfare benefits and Debt advice. Watch out for #legalwalk and @SouthWestLST on the night of 4th June to see photos throughout the event!
