Private Client Solicitor / CILEX Legal Executive / Practitioner
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Private Client Solicitor, CILEX Legal Executive, or Private Client Practitioner to join our established Private Client Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with at least 3 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) to work within a supportive and professional environment, managing a varied caseload of private client matters.
The successful candidate will handle all aspects of private client work, including wills, powers of attorney, probate, and estate administration, while delivering exceptional client care and maintaining high professional standards in accordance with applicable UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a full caseload of private client matters from instruction through to completion
- Drafting wills tailored to clients’ individual circumstances
- Advising clients on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Handling probate applications and the administration of estates
- Advising executors and beneficiaries on estate matters
- Preparing inheritance tax documentation and related applications
- Maintaining accurate file management and compliance with SRA/CILEX and anti-money laundering requirements
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent communication and client care
- Liaising with third parties including HMCTS, HMRC, financial institutions, and other professional advisers
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ PQE or equivalent experience in private client work
- Qualification as a Solicitor, CILEX Legal Executive, or experienced Private Client Practitioner
- A solid understanding of wills, powers of attorney, probate, and estate administration
- Experience managing a varied private client caseload independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on client service
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with clients
