Trainee Solicitor Erin Hunt is raising awareness for the Stroke Association and Lasting Powers of Attorney

Erin is abseiling 350 feet down Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower in support of the Stroke Association who provide practical, emotional and financial advice and support for stroke patients, their families and carers.

Erin will be abseiling down the side of one of the South Coast's most famous land mark; fundraising for the Stroke Association and raising awareness of lasting powers of attorney.

Erin says,

'I work in the Private Client department of QualitySolicitors Large & Gibson advising clients on powers of attorney. A stroke can be a life changing event but often completely unexpected and ill prepared for. Where you might think nothing of taking out contents insurance in case of a burglary, very few make provision for the risk of a time, when you are are no longer able to manage your affairs own your own. A time maybe where you cannot manage daily tasks and to make decisions;  from running minor errands, like getting to the post office, to more major decisions, about investments, care fees or where to live'.

Making a lasting power of attorney is effectively an insurance for that very type of situation.

So why the Stroke Association?

Erin Says,

'Stroke changes lives- not just the  stroke patient but all those who care about them and support them. I know first hand how much of a difference an organisation like the Stroke Association can make to those affected by Stroke'.
