Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive/Legal Assistant - Property and Finance

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive/Legal Assistant to join a well-established legal firm with a strong reputation in Warwickshire and beyond.

Working in the Court of Protection Property and Finance team, you will have prior experience in this area including running your own caseload. You will have experience in responding to telephone enquiries, making deputyship applications, and supporting daily financial administrations.

 

About the role:

You will have responsibility for your own caseload comprising of Court of Protection/Deputyship matters. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Professional and lay Deputy applications for property and finance
  • On-going deputy administration
  • Ancillary applications such as new trustee orders
  • Statutory Gift applications
  • Statutory Will applications
  • Providing advice and frequent contact with the client/their family and maintaining long term relationships
  • Managing client’s assets, income and expenditure including property, investments, and cash
  • Making payments to, for or on behalf of clients, monitoring budgets, liaising with financial advisors
  • Discussing investment recommendations with clients, Trustees, Deputies, and other professionals as necessary

About you:

You will have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and be able to work to tight court deadlines where necessary. 

We are looking for not only a team player but also someone who is approachable and empathetic as often this area of work can sometimes be distressing for family members of the client. A personable, calm, and caring nature with excellent client care and communication skills are of the utmost importance to ensure we provide the best client service we can.
