Certain Packages assume your Land Registry Title reflects that property for couples is held as Tenants in Common in equal shares. If not sure we will check for you at no cost other than the Land Registry’s disbursement of £3.00. Change of deed fee is set out under our charge for severing the joint tenancy.

In making a will you are ensuring your children are cared for by those you choose and not those the courts appoint, should the worse happen to you. As well as making sure your loved ones receive exactly what you intended them to receive and your partner cannot be forced out of their home. Without a will in place, the default legal action will apply, more money could be paid in taxes, loved ones could be left without and even your home could be sold to pay for care fees.

By choosing a regulated solicitor to write your will, not only can you have the confidence that a legal professional has drafted a waterproof last will and testament but that you are protected in the unlikely event that anything should go wrong; this is because not only is there an ombudsman but we also have indemnity insurance in place. We are also better placed to advise on more complex issues; such as keeping inheritance tax as low as possible, retaining property overseas as part of your estate and the intricacies of owning a business.

When you make a will you will need to choose your executors, who will administer your wishes once you have passed away. Your executor can be anyone over the age of 18 and you can choose up to four executors to act at any one time. Should you need to change your executor, this is possible by amending your will and an executor can refuse if they wish to. QualitySolicitors Jordans offers a separate impartial executor service.

By choosing QualitySolicitors Jordans, you can also be assured that we will take the time to explain everything to your executors when you do pass away, as well as offering them initial guidance on what they will need to do next.
