  • Social Care Crisis: Mencap’s ongoing #socialcarecrisis campaign has highlighted more shocking statistics when it comes to concerns over care package cuts for people and families caring for someone with learning difficulties:

72% of families are scared of more cuts to social care happening in the future
7 in 10 (69%) people with a learning disability had their social care cut or reduced
4 in 5 (79%) family carers have been forced to take on more unpaid care for their family member

  • Transport: The Government have just announced a Multi-million-pound funding package for school transport in the hope that the new funding for local authorities will ease pressure on public transport as children return in September.   • Back to school: There is so much in the news at the moment in regard to schools going back in September and with the summer holiday’s flying by for many – some families are struggling to get by day to day without help and respite that they are entitled to.
