Erica joined J A Hughes in 2018 and is a Trainee Solicitor in the Criminal department based at our Barry office.
Erica undertook a degree in Biology and European studies, before gaining experience in the workplace. Later, as her passion for helping people developed further, she completed a Graduate Diploma in Law, followed by the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University. Her focus was primarily in the areas of Family, Private Client and Employment.
Prior to becoming a Paralegal, Erica has had experience in a variety of industries. After graduating, Erica became a Business Manager in the NHS where she developed management skills. During this time she enrolled in further studies, enabling her to teach English as a foreign language in Thailand. Upon her return to the UK, Erica engaged in client focussed roles giving her the opportunity to directly support members of the local community. While undergoing her education in Law, Erica worked with the Citizens Advice Bureau in South East Wales. With J A Hughes, she is developing a career in family law in areas including divorce, financial proceedings, and children matters.
As part of her interest in cultures and societies, she is an avid traveller. Erica leads an active lifestyle and enjoys the British outdoors, camping, walking, cycling and trips with her dog.
