“Susan is a solicitor in the Civil Litigation Department based in the Barry office. She has a high degree of specialism  particularly in  Equine Law, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Debt Recovery and Landlord and Tennant disputes.

 

EDUCATION:   Susan completed her secondary education at Cowbridge Comprehensive School before studying law at the University of Liverpool. On graduation she moved to Bristol university to study her Law Society finals. She completed her training at Eversheds in Cardiff.

 

CAREER:    Susan qualified in 1990 and joined Leo Abse and Cohen where she gained extensive experience in all areas of Civil Litigation but particularly in high value and complex  Claimant and Defendant pre and post litigation Personal injury matters. She gained a speciality in Equine related litigation where she regularly successfully  took cases to trial  including a Four day trial involving a freelance riding instructor, a claim with a value of £1,000.000. She then moved to Morgan Cole as Senior Associate where she continued with her specialisms before joining JA Hughes in 2016 as head of the Civil Litigation Department.

 

INTERESTS: Susan has a keen interest in horses. She lives on a small holding, is a member of British Dressage and  has 4 dressage horses which she competes regularly.”
