Criminal Cases Review Commission Refer Conviction of Stephen Lawless 15th June 2016 - QS Jordans Doncaster and Sheffield

The Criminal Cases Review Commission have today announced that the conviction of Stephen Lawless has been referred back to the Court of Appeal on the basis that there is a reasonable possibility that the Court of Appeal will not uphold the conviction . Stephen Lawless is represented by Mark Newby of QS Jordans

This is following a detailed investigation by the Commission which has uncovered sensitive and significant material which may now lead the Court to conclude that this conviction for the supply of drugs should not be upheld . This includes information over the conduct of a police officer involved in the original investigation .

Due to the sensitivity of the matter no further disclosure or comment can be made until the Court has determined what material should be placed in the public domain .

We have a long track record of  involvement  in a large number of convictions being succsssfully quashed and have dealt with a number of CCRC Referrals .
